It was hard to know exactly what to expect going into network security company Check Point Software Technologies Ltd's fourth-quarter results. After all, competitors like Fortinet Inc and Palo Alto Networks Inc. had both served notice that sales cycles were lengthening, and that's usually a clear sign of a slowing marketplace.
